Q – How much concrete will I need for my project?

A – You can use the online concrete calculator or just give us a call and we will be happy to assist or arrange a site visit.

Q – Do I need protective clothing whilst placing fresh concrete?

A – Yes, fresh concrete is highly alkaline and contact with skin can produce burns. Suitable personal protective equipment must be worn. Our Material safety data sheet is available on the website document store and information is also on the reverse of our delivery ticket.

Q – Is concrete the same from any supplier?

A – No, concrete’s performance can only be guaranteed from a quality assured supplier. North East Concrete is BSI accredited; Readymixed Concrete supplied conforming to BS EN 206 and BS 8500 – 2 under a quality management system complying with ISO 9001 giving you confidence our material will perform for many years.

Q – Will I need help to place concrete?

A – There are approx. 27 wheel barrow loads in just 1m3 of concrete and normally has to be placed in around 1.5 / 2 hrs. after being produced and this time will be reduced in warmer weather. Ensure you have enough help for your project or depending on the size of your project consider placing with a Dumper or Concrete Pump. We will be happy to advise just give us a call.

Q – How do I know which type of concrete mix to use?

A – If you have been given a plan from your Builder, Engineer or Architect, we will need this information for the concrete specification. If you do not have this type of information we can recommend the correct concrete for your project.
